Laboratory of Green/Sustainable Chemistry aims, on the one hand, to explore and to develop new alternative and non-polluting methods for the synthesis of nanomaterials. On the other hand, the synthesis of metal/oxide nanoparticles or composites of significance in environmental depollution represents another priority of our research group.

The molecular design of oxide/metals nanoparticles is a modern trend in the chemistry of materials, leading to new materials with features of biological importance. Three main research directions are followed:

       - Polysaccharide-assisted synthesis of hierarchical nano-structured oxide materials.

       - Oxide materials for decreasing the environmental pollution and/or with potential antibacterial activity.

       - Crystal engineering of (multi)functional molecular materials with interesting magneto-optical properties and with potential therapeutical activity.

Design and synthesis of:
- coordination compounds exhibiting magnetic and/or luminescent properties; magneto-optical studies.
- metal complexes showing biological activity.
- (multi)functional heterometallic nanomagnets; magneto-structural studies.
