The garden was established in 1968, it covers an area of 21.5 hectares and are cultivated about 3,800 species.

       • The introduction of exotic species in culture to enrich the plants collections of the garden

       • Monitoring plant’s pests and diseases
       • Herbarium activities
       • Environmental education of the visitors
       • The harvesting and conservation of seeds and fruits
